ARCTIC CIRCLE RACE CAMP

ACR Camp

Arctic Circle Race Camp is where all participants and volunteers camp.

ACR Camp becomes  a small community, where all the participants and volunteers had a base camp, over two nights, in the wilderness of Sisimiut’s stunning nature.

The weather in Greenland varies significantly, therefore we can’t tell exactly where the next ACR Camp is going to be. Every base camp decision where it’s going to be, every single year, depends on weather or winter conditions in Greenland, Sisimiut.

The unpredictability of snowfall in the wilderness is a primary reason why participants must wait for the Arctic Circle Race program to be finalized. Since no one can accurately forecast the amount of snowfall or its presence in the race area at any given time, organizers need to assess current conditions closer to the event date to determine the feasibility and safety of the race route.
